Maryann

Maryann is one of the most creative dressers I know. I love the way she mixes different textures and fabrics, and adds her own handmade embellishments to create a style that is both on trend and truly unique. Maryann describes the act of dressing up as, "A creative process that brings me closer to my “Self”. It doesn’t really occur to me that people would have a hard time with this; it’s a natural part of my day. My husband asked me recently “What would you call that look?”, and I answered, “It’s just me!”

Here are some of my favorite of Maryann's looks. Which do you like the best?!!!

"Fashion is Trendy, Style is Forever"

I ran into Liz Friedman while photo hunting on the Upper East Side. Last time I photographed her, she was jumping in the air. Check out the photo HERE. When I asked if Liz had any fashion advice to share she replied, " Fashion is trendy, style is forever."

Cool Winter

This woman looks perfectly cool for a freezing winter day in NYC.

Last Night in New Orleans

Here is the last photo from my trip to New Orleans of vintage dealer Princess Parchuke. Now I'm off to hit the cold streets of NYC!

Cree McCree

Cree McCree is known throughout New Orleans for her incredible costumes and her lively spirit. Not only does she design costumes for many of the annual festivals held in New Orleans, but she also organizes vintage sales throughout the city. After our shoot, Cree wanted to make sure and show me the original label from a vintage hat that she reworked into her own Cree-ation.

Linda Rodin Stars The Row's Latest Look Book

All Images Courtesy of The Row and Vogue.com
When I started my blog back in 2008, I noticed how there was a set of younger women who were referencing the style of fashionable older women. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, designers of The Row, are probably the most notable among these chic young ladies who effortlessly mix vintage fashions with their own brand of eccentricity, and personal style. Bravo to the Olsen's for taking one step further in the celebration of older women by casting 64-year-old Linda Rodin in their latest Look Book campaign. Check out an interview with Linda Rodin on Elle.com for more on the shoot HERE.
